Taking Control of Goods Update
Posted on 24th May 2021 at 17:17
We have today received correspondence from the Ministry of Justice, regarding Taking Control of Goods.
The Government has announced that they do not intend to extend the legislative ban on bailiff-enforced evictions in England that is due to expire at the end of 31 May. In the communication they are advising that the guidance asking Enforcement Agents not to enter residential properties to take control of goods will also be withdrawn at the end of 31 May.
The Government’s guidance “Working safely during COVID-19: enforcement agents (bailiffs)” remains in place, it sets out some of the steps that Enforcement Agents and firms should take in order to help ensure that enforcement action is undertaken safely.
